Davide Casu

Born in Alghero, on January 16, 1983, he trained in the artistic and cultural circles between Alghero, Turin and Madrid. He enrolled in the faculty of literature and philosophy in the Piedmontese capital, where he founded the ésthesis, with a successful compositional and concert experience that ended in 2006. After moving to Iberia, his painting activity predominates and his exhibitions are numerous in Alicante, Madrid, Illescas and Ciudad Real, with good appreciation from critics. In the meantime, he also continues his concert and songwriting activity for Madrid clubs. Back in Sardinia, he continued to exhibit and write; in 2011 he published C'eran los Suelgius, a literary work in three languages, the following September he won the Pino Piras Prize for the new Alghero song. In 2013 he published Cabudianas with the Nemapress publishing house and in 2014 he won the Sari Prize with the poem Torì, and the Italia mia Prize, narrative section, with the story Il ritorno.  Also in the same year he came out in bookstores with the novel Baddes, in 2015 followed a collection of poems entitled Hablando con Castilla. In October 2015 he was a finalist at the ANDREA PARODI AWARD, of national scope, where he won the prize for the best lyrics and the prize for the best music, with the song Sant'Eulalia. In 2017 he published the box set Poetica for Abba and S'Ard music editions and the album "Il Poeta" for S'ard music and Egea. In 2018 he was a finalist at Sanremo Rock in the city of flowers, later he won the Mario Cervo record award, as the best Sardinian record of 2017. In November 2018 he released the single "il Pittore". In 2019 he released the single "Foglie di Mare", won Voci di Maggio Giovani, starred in Barnasants, a major event, after the opening concerts at Daniele Silvestri, Bandabardò and Modena City Ramblers, and finally released Costa Oest a Llevant, an album in Alghero, intended mainly for the Catalan countries. A few months later it was the turn of "Vecchi Cassetti", a collection of old handcrafted recordings and bootlegs, of songs never contained until then in a record, which recur twenty years of career. Ifnine, in October 2021 the album "Concerts for gardens and blue skies" was released, an intimate record that Casu describes as follows: My latest record was born from the desire to return to the roots of the song. A guitar, a voice, a text. I recorded this album looking out of the window at my vegetable garden, my olive trees and the clear sky above them on a September day, when I took a microphone and a loop station and began to record the songs as I heard them, all live, and almost exclusively single-track. And so I left them, without mixing or anything else, immortalizing a moment, a concert for these silences and solitudes. Apart from the last track that was recorded in Sabadell live, the rest is my current live dimension: for me, my friends, my crops. Very honest events.

In the following month, he offered himself to the public with the mini LP Rifioriranno le more.

In 2022 she sang alongside Marina Rossell at the 750th anniversary of the Consolat del Mar, while continuing her intellectual and concert activity in reserved environments, apart from a few appearances on island stages.

In 2025 he resumed his concert activity following the publication of RES I TOT, a record completely written in the Alghero language and immediately highly appreciated by critics and the public, for the freshness and instinctiveness of the sound and compositions.

In December 2025 he released the single MAPPA NOTTURNA IN C MAJOR.
